Integration Engineer
(this is a hybrid position for our Helsinki office, not fully remote, as we need to share HW in the office)
Are you a mid-level or even blossoming engineer who wants to deepen your skills in professional SW engineering, C++, operating systems, the automotive market, or all of the above? While we are relatively flexible when it comes to your skill set, we are looking for a software engineer with personality, who can engage our existing integration team of 4 in our lean workflow, to talk through implementing various requests..
Rightware is dedicated to empowering the creation of the most technically and graphically advanced automotive HMIs (human-machine interfaces). For over a decade our leading HMI toolchain, Kanzi, has been the driving force behind the cockpit displays featured in millions of in-production cars worldwide from more than 50 automotive brands. Our team comprises experts in graphics, UI development, and more, continuously growing and setting new standards in the automotive HMI industry.
In this integration role, you will take part in project work for top class automotive companies. You would be joining a team of experts responsible for providing platform packages, deliverables of Kanzi integration to target HW/SW, some customer support, and naturally supporting internal development and maintenance. You will also analyze, optimize and verify Kanzi runtime on target devices.
A day in the life of an Integration Engineer:
You could get a request from a customer to port Kanzi engine to a new platform, so you’ll do some ‘pre-studying’, checking if the target platform meets our requirements. Then you’ll check that the toolchain supports all features as needed, then make an estimate how long the porting will take. You’ll report that to both the customer and team, then if approved, you carry on to the porting phase.
You will join a handful of other Integration engineers who can help deepen your skills in professional SW engineering, C++, operating systems, the automotive industry, you name it. Depending on what your technical expertise is, you can concentrate on what you are best at while we handle the rest, coaching you on the parts you have not yet mastered.
Who Are You?
You are persistent, patient and comfortable at troubleshooting. You are in your element when solving any technical challenge, a natural problem solver who actually enjoys a good technical dilemma. You are good with people and capable of building good customer experiences.
Requirements
- Modern C++ programming skills (C++14 & C++17)
- Embedded SW development experience
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Excellent teamwork skills
Your role will be further tailored based on your skills in the following:
- Experience with various operating systems and toolchains
- Experience configuring build systems CMake or SCons
- Experience with Docker container deployment
- Profiling and debugging skills
- Python programming skills
- Understanding of graphics programming with OpenGL or Vulkan
